Four alkaline AA batteries from Varta, type LR6. The most widely used cell there is, and in a grow room the one sitting in your timer, your thermo-hygrometer and most handheld meters.
What "High Energy" means
Alkaline batteries come in roughly two kinds: cheap cells that do fine in a device asking for a trickle now and then, and cells optimised for equipment that draws continuously or in real peaks. High Energy is the second kind.
You will not notice the difference in a clock, and you will in anything with a display, a small pump or a backlight. A cheap cell sags in voltage sooner there, and a lot of measuring equipment starts behaving erratically at lower voltage well before it actually reports empty. That is exactly the kind of fault that makes you think your meter has broken.
Individually held
The blister is a Single Press Out: you push out one cell at a time and the rest stay sealed. A small thing, but it saves you the familiar drawer of loose batteries where nobody can remember which are full.
What takes them
AA is the size of most timers, thermo-hygrometers and handheld meters in this range. If a device is going unused for a while, take the cells out. A leaking battery inside a meter is an expensive way to save three euros.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from a cheap AA? Mainly how the voltage holds up under load. You notice it in anything with a display or a pump; in a wall clock you will not.
Can I use AAA with an adapter? It will fit, but an AAA holds roughly a third as much. You will be swapping again far sooner.
Can I mix old and new cells? Better not. The weakest cell sets the pace and you flatten the new ones needlessly fast.
What about long storage? Take them out of the device. Leakage inside a meter costs more than the batteries.
