AC Infinity Activated Carbon Filter XL 150 mm

The XL is not a different filter, it is the same filter in a longer can. That difference is worth thinking about, because it buys you exactly two things and costs you exactly one.

What the extra length buys and what it costs

The carbon bed is the same thickness as on the standard version, but the body is a hundred millimetres longer. That simply means more carbon, spread across a larger flow area.

The first of those buys service life: more carbon means more odour molecules before the bed is full, with everything else equal. The second buys airflow: because the air spreads over more surface, resistance per square centimetre is lower and more gets through, 520 CFM against 410.

What it costs is headroom. Fifty centimetres of filter plus a fan plus the ducting between them takes a serious bite out of a 180 cm tent, and that is the reason to think about it rather than default to the largest.

So the choice is about your setup. If you have height to spare, or your filter hangs outside the tent, the XL is the better buy: longer life and less resistance at the same collar size. If height is tight, the 400 mm standard is the sensible one.

Build

The XL models use stainless steel mesh on both sides and flanges with hooks that rope hangers clip into directly. Two washable pre-filter cloths and two rope hangers are included, so it can go straight up.
