An XL inline carbon filter with a 200 mm collar and a 584 mm body. The largest size we stock, with the same 38 mm carbon bed.
This filter weighs ten kilos and is almost sixty centimetres long. Before you look at the specifications there is a practical question to settle: where are you going to put it.
Hanging ten kilos over the canopy
A tent frame is made to carry weight, but not equally well everywhere. The load belongs on the corners and on the top bars near those corners, not in the middle of a single bar. Two rope hangers half a metre apart spread it across two points, which is exactly why two are supplied.
Hang the fan separately, on its own points. The temptation is to couple filter and fan together and hang the whole assembly from one point, but then ten kilos pulls on your fan's flange and on the ducting between them. That ducting deforms and leaks, and a leaking joint between filter and fan is an odour leak you cannot see.
In a room with no tent frame this filter belongs on the ceiling or a beam, not on the floor. Carbon standing on a damp floor draws moisture from below.
If space is tight this is also the filter you hang outside the tent, on the pressure side of the fan. You then lose the advantage of stripping the odour immediately, so every joint between the tent and the filter has to be sealed.
What this size is for
At this collar size and carbon volume the filter belongs on room extraction, on several tents feeding one outlet, and on setups where the fan has plenty of headroom. For a single 120 x 120 cm tent it is generous.

Frequently asked questions
Will my tent frame take this?
Usually, provided you hang from two points and stay near the corners. Check the maximum your tent manufacturer states.
Can the filter stand on the floor?
Better not. Carbon draws moisture from below, and damp carbon filters less well.
Is this too big for my 200 mm fan?
No. A filter with more capacity than your fan needs offers less resistance and lasts longer. Only the other way round causes problems.
