A complete 100 mm extraction kit with a CLOUDLINE A4 fan, a carbon filter, 7.62 metres of ducting and all the mounting hardware. Rated at 165 CFM (280 m³/h) at 29 dBA and 18 watts.
This is the entry kit and the most common starting point for a first tent. The question worth asking is whether a kit beats buying the parts separately, and the answer is more nuanced than a plain yes.
What a kit buys you and what it does not
What you are buying is compatibility. Fan, filter and ducting share a collar size, the clamps fit, and the hanging straps are in the box. Buying separately means thinking about sizing three times and usually ordering another set of clamps because you are two short.
You are also buying a pairing that works. The fan delivers 165 CFM and the filter takes more than that, so the filter is never the bottleneck. With separate parts that is exactly the mistake most often made.
What you are not buying is flexibility. If your setup has more resistance than average, say a long duct run with bends, you would rather have had a fan with more headroom. And the controller in this kit is a ten-speed dial with a power switch: it sets speed, but it responds to nothing. If you want extraction to step up on its own when it gets too warm, the PRO version of this kit is the better buy.
The fan in this kit is the CLOUDLINE A4, from the LITE series. It shares the mixed-flow design, the IP44 sealing and the dual ball bearings rated at 67,000 hours with the PRO series, but it lacks the UIS port that would let you put it on a smart controller later.
Exactly what is in the box
Useful to know before you measure the headroom left above your canopy.
- Fan: 30.2 cm long, 19.0 cm high, 12.2 cm deep
- Controller: 3.5 x 6.9 x 1.4 cm, ten speeds plus a power switch
- Carbon filter: 25.0 cm long, 10.0 cm across
- Ducting: 7.62 metres, four layers, 10.7 cm across
- Duct clamps: 10.1 cm
- Hanging straps: 1.44 metres, rope hangers 2.43 metres
- Also included: pre-filter cloth
Fan plus filter comes to over half a metre together, with the ducting between them on top of that. It fits a 100 x 100 x 200 cm tent, but hang the two alongside each other rather than in one straight line above the canopy.
The three standard kits side by side
| Kit | Fan | Airflow | Noise | Power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 mm | CLOUDLINE A4 | 165 CFM | 29 dBA | 18 W |
| 150 mm | CLOUDLINE A6 | 352 CFM | 34 dBA | 35 W |
| 200 mm | CLOUDLINE 8" | 724 CFM | 42 dBA | 72 W |
Work out your own space: volume in cubic metres times sixty is what you need per hour for one air change per minute. A 100 x 100 x 200 cm tent is 2 m³ and so asks for 120 m³/h, comfortably inside what this kit delivers, filter included.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put this fan on a smart controller later?
No. The A series has no UIS port, so there is nothing to connect a controller to. If you want that option, take the PRO kit or a separate CLOUDLINE Pro.
Do I need anything else?
Usually not. Ducting, clamps, hanging hardware and pre-filter are all included.
Is 7.62 metres of ducting not far too long?
Often it is, and that is the point: you cut it to the length you need. Keep it as short and as straight as you can.
What does it use?
18 watts at full power, and less at a lower setting. An EC motor under PWM draws less as the speed comes down.
Why is the filter shorter than your separate 100 mm filter?
The kit filter is 25 cm against 33 cm separately. That saves height, but it holds less carbon, so it lasts less long.
Will it fit a 60 x 60 cm tent?
On airflow easily, but measure the height: fan and filter together are over half a metre.
