The Cloudforge T3 box carries three numbers that cannot all describe the same thing: 4.5 litres, up to 45 hours and around 240 ml per hour. They are all correct, but they are not about the same situation.

Runtime and output belong to different settings

Do the arithmetic: 4.5 litres at 240 ml an hour is about nineteen hours, not forty-five. The difference is the level. The 240 ml per hour is maximum output, so level ten. The 45 hours is runtime at a low level, where the unit uses far less water.

That is not a trick, it follows from how you use it. A humidifier rarely runs continuously. It comes on when humidity drops below your target and switches off once it rises above it, so your real consumption sits somewhere between those two extremes.

What to take from that for your own space: the drier your room and the harder your extraction runs, the closer you get to those nineteen hours. A tent that leaks little with extraction at a low setting keeps you nearer forty.

In practice: expect a daily refill while raising young plants in a dry room, and every other day or less once your climate is nearly right. If the tank empties, the unit shuts itself off.

Standing it outside the tent

The probe is on a cable and the mist travels through an extendable hose of just over 1.2 metres, so the unit can stand beside the tent while measuring and humidifying inside. That saves floor space and keeps the reservoir reachable without opening the tent. The backlit display can be switched off so the dark period stays dark.
