The CLOUDLINE Pro S6 is the size most growers end up buying: enough headroom to still run at a low speed with a filter and ducting attached. There is one thing worth knowing first, and it is about power.

The fan powers the controller, not the other way round

On this generation the EC motor plugs into the wall and the controller draws its power through the cable from the fan. On the older DC-motor generation it was the reverse: the power supply sat at the controller and fed the fan from there.

That difference matters more than it sounds, because the two generations do not work together. An old controller on a new fan does nothing, and a new controller on an old fan does nothing either. If you have equipment from a few years back, do not assume it fits just because the plug goes in.

The practical consequence for installation: the fan itself belongs in the socket, which frees the controller to hang wherever you can reach it without going into the tent. There is a magnet behind the label on the back, so it stays put on a steel frame or a cabinet door.

If you later want to drive several fans from one point, you can. A splitter puts four devices on a single port, and a daisy-chain adapter up to twenty per port. They do have to come from the same series. Mixing sizes is fine, mixing generations is not.

What 402 CFM means in practice

At full speed this is more air than a 120 x 120 cm tent needs, and that is the point. A fan doing its work at speed three or four is quieter, draws less and lasts longer than a smaller one forced to run flat out all day.

The 32 dBA figure applies at full power. At the speeds you will actually use, what you hear is air moving through the ducting rather than the motor, because PWM control lets the motor turn very slowly without humming.

Frequently asked questions

Will my older AC Infinity controller fit this?
Only if it is from the same EC generation. Controllers from the older DC-motor models will not run this fan, even though the plug fits.

Can I run two fans from one controller?

Why does the fan itself go into the socket?
