AC Infinity - Grow Tent Duct Ventilation Cover 150 mm 2-Pack

A pair of duct vents for 6 inch openings, 150 mm. Each one combines a cotton filter, light-blocking shades and an adjustable opening, and twists onto the port without tools.

The one hole in your tent with nothing across it

There is a carbon filter on the extraction side and ducting on the fan side. But the passive intakes, the round ports you open so air can get in, are usually just a fabric sleeve with a drawstring. Whatever the negative pressure from your extraction pulls in, comes in there.

In practice that means dust and lint, and in season fungus gnats and thrips as well. They are not passing by: they are being drawn in, daily, for as long as your fan runs. And it is the same opening light falls through while the tent is in its dark period.

What the vent puts in the way

Two things at once. A two-layer cotton filter catches dust, lint and insects while air keeps moving through, and a set of light-blocking shades stops light from above or outside travelling straight through the opening.

The opening is adjustable on top of that: you can open the vent further when you want more air exchange. So the same part serves a throttled passive intake and an opening that needs to run wide open.

Fitting and size

The vent twists onto a suitable 6 inch port and needs no tools for it. The filter cap measures 4.1 by 19.9 cm and the screw cap 5.1 by 19.9 cm, so the vent projects only a couple of centimetres and stays clear of ducting or a wall sitting close behind the tent. Two come in the box, which is usually exactly how many intakes a tent has.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my tent?
On a standard round 6 inch port, yes. Measure the opening if you are unsure; AC Infinity name no brands and we have not measured every tent.

Can I use it on the exhaust side?
You can, but most of the value is at the intake. On the exhaust most people already have a carbon filter hanging.

Do I lose airflow?
A filter always adds some resistance. AC Infinity publish no figures for it, so none appear here. If you want as little restriction as possible, open the vent further or move to a larger opening.

Why are there two?
Because a tent usually has two, low down on either side.
