An extendable heat-resistant polypropylene hose for the outlet side of the THERMOFORGE S7 and T7. From roughly 0.70 metres compressed to 2.44 metres extended, with a screw connection onto the heater.

For the outlet, and only the outlet

This is the most important sentence on the page and it is deliberately at the top. The hose fits the outlet port of the S7 and T7 and does not fit the intake ports. Those intakes take ordinary multi-layer flexible ducting of 100 mm, which is sold separately.

The distinction is not arbitrary. Room air goes in at the intake side, at room temperature. What leaves the outlet has just passed a 1000 watt heating element. That is the side where the material has to cope with something, and that is the side this hose was built for.

Why not ordinary aluminium ducting

Standard flexible ducting is layers of aluminium around a steel spiral. It conducts heat extremely well, which is fine for extracted air at room temperature and less welcome once warmed air runs through it: the heat you meant to deliver to your tent leaks into the room on the way, and the outside of the duct gets hot where you walk past it.

This hose is polypropylene and is built, in AC Infinity's words, to keep a cooler exterior during that same transport than a traditional multi-layer hose. They publish no insulation value with it, so none appears here; it is a comparison and it is presented as one.

Extending and aiming

The hose pulls out from roughly 0.70 metres to 2.44 metres, so you put the heater where it fits and bridge the rest. Because the structure holds its shape, a bend stays where you put it instead of sagging. That matters when you want warm air entering the tent at a particular height rather than wherever the hose happens to hang.

The connection to the heater is a screw fit, which keeps the joint tight and limits warm air escaping at the connection point.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit the intake on my T7?
No. The intake ports take ordinary 100 mm flexible ducting. This hose belongs on the outlet side.

Can I cut it shorter?
That is not the idea: it is extendable, and you set the length by pulling it out further or less far.

How much heat will it take?
AC Infinity call the hose heat-resistant but publish no upper limit in degrees, so none is stated here.

Does it work on another heater?
The screw connection was made for the S7 and T7. AC Infinity state no compatibility with other units.
