A 250 mm quick coupling for joining large flanged ventilation parts.

At 250 mm a clamp does the same job as at 100 mm, but a great deal more hangs from it. That changes what you have to watch.

Large joints carry weight

A carbon filter for ducting this size weighs several times one for 100 mm, and a silenced fan comes close to it too. That mass hangs on the joint, and a flanged joint is not meant to serve as a mounting point.

So support heavy parts separately. The clamp keeps the joint closed and in place; it should not be carrying the full weight of a filter hanging free at one end. When it does, the pull goes into the flange rather than the clamp, and a joint that still looks closed will leak.

At this diameter watch flatness as well. A large flange has more circumference over which the two edges must meet, and slight distortion you would never notice at 100 mm leaves a gap here.
