Can-Fan Iso-Max 250 Inline Fan 1480 m³/h

A damped 250 mm duct fan running at one fixed speed of 1480 m³/h, drawing 150 W, and the only Iso-Max that accepts a speed controller.

The Iso-Max 250 is the exception within its own family. Where the smaller versions have three built-in settings and may not be given a controller, this model has one speed and may.

One speed, yet controllable

That sounds contradictory and is not. On the three-speed models the regulation sits in the motor winding, and putting something in front of that works against the design. This model is built without those internal steps, which is why its speed can be set externally.

Can names the route itself: the Can-Fan Satellite 4A, which together with this fan functions as a speed controller. To go beyond setting it by hand, Can's LCD controller can be plugged into that for full control.

In practice this makes it the model to choose when extraction has to move with conditions rather than sit on one setting. At this airflow that is often exactly what you want: the swing between day and night in a large space is considerable, and a permanent 1480 m³/h is rarely needed.

Do note: without a controller this is a fan with one speed and nothing more. The controllable part has to be bought separately.

Space, weight and hanging

This is the largest unit in the range: 680 mm long and 9.9 kg. That weight is the price of the construction, since the silencer wraps around the fan and that housing is metal with acoustic foam inside it.

So plan the mounting first and everything else after. Nearly ten kilos on a single point in a ceiling is a different matter from a three-kilo plastic duct fan, and a carbon filter joins it that is no lightweight at this airflow either. Mounting brackets are supplied, but what you fix them into is up to you.

A thermal switch in the motor cuts out at excessive working temperature.
