Can-Fan Iso-Max 200 Inline Fan 870 m³/h

A damped 200 mm duct fan with three airflow settings up to 870 m³/h, drawing 121 W, and 600 mm long.

The Iso-Max 200 moves well over twice the air of the 160 mm version and is nonetheless almost eight centimetres shorter. That is not a detail when you have to fit into a duct run.

Length tells you nothing about capacity

The idea that a stronger fan takes more room does not hold here. The 160 measures 678 mm and manages 430 m³/h; this one measures 600 mm and manages 870.

That is because the length of this type is set mainly by the damping section rather than by the motor. How much damping is needed depends on the frequencies being absorbed, and that works out differently per model than air performance does.

In practice: choose on what your space needs in air, and only then measure whether it fits. Do not assume the model below is shorter, because here it is precisely the opposite.

Three speeds

Three airflow settings are available: 690, 740 and 870 m³/h, selected on the switch on the unit.

Note that the bottom setting is high here. From 690 to 870 is not quite thirty percent, so this is not a fan whose lowest speed turns it into an economical unit for a small space. If you need something around 400 to 500 m³/h, the 160 mm version is the right model rather than this one on setting one.

An external speed controller does not belong with it. Can does not permit one on the three-speed version.

Protection and mounting

The motor carries a thermal switch that shuts it off once working temperature becomes dangerously high. In normal use that should not happen, so if it does, look for the cause in the ducting or the filter rather than turning the fan up a setting.

Mounting brackets are supplied. At 8 kg that is no luxury: hang the assembly from something that carries the weight, and do not let the carbon filter hang off the fan.
