Of all the Max-Fan Pro models the 200 has the largest gap between its two settings. The low speed delivers 65 percent of the high one, where on the 250 mm version that figure is over 88 percent.

Two speeds that really do two things

On most two-speed fans the low setting is merely a little softer. Here it is a different fan. At 793 m³/h you are in the range of a medium installation, at 1220 in that of a substantial room, and those 427 cubic metres per hour between them exceed the entire output of many smaller models.

That makes this model useful in two ways. If the space you run varies, you have one fan where others would need two. And if your space is fixed, you use the low setting as normal operation and the high one as reserve for warm weeks and for the point where your carbon filter starts to load up.

Choose on the low setting, though. A fan that is only adequate flat out has no reserve, and reserve is exactly what a second speed is for.

Cleaning

At this airflow a great deal of air passes the impeller over a cycle, and whatever is suspended in it settles on the blades. A layer of dust changes the shape of those blades and costs efficiency at both settings.

The construction allows for it: the fan comes out of the duct adapter without dismantling the ducting, so the impeller is reachable. A look between two cycles is enough. Regulation stays with the built-in switch, since a separate controller does not belong here.
