Plastic duct fan with a 100 mm flange, rated 270 m³/h free air at 70 W.
The RK 100L is the smallest Can-Fan we carry, which makes it the most underestimated: 100 mm is exactly the size people get wrong most often.
Which filter belongs with it
Can publishes a matching filter list for every fan it makes. For the RK 100L there are two: the CAN 9000 and the CAN 250M3H. Both from the Original range, both deliberately small.
That is a more useful answer than it looks. The reflex is to pick a filter by flange size, so a 100 mm filter for a 100 mm fan. But a filter is chosen on how much air it may pass. Too little carbon for what the fan pulls and the air moves through the bed too fast for the carbon to hold the odour. Too much and you are paying for bed you never use, with a heavier housing hanging from the ceiling.
So take Can's list literally. One of those two belongs on this fan, rather than the next filter that happens to have a 100 mm collar.
What the 270 m³/h figure means
That 270 is free air: the fan on its own, no ducting and no filter. Once a carbon filter sits in front of it and a few metres of ducting behind it, noticeably less is left. Exactly how much depends on how you build, which is why no number here can tell you.
The practical rule: do not plan on the full 270, and leave margin. A fan running at half speed is quieter and lasts longer than one pulling flat out around the clock.
Build
The housing is PA6 plastic in RAL 7035, the light grey used across the range. Plastic does not corrode, which matters because extracted air from a growing space is often damp. The bearings are maintenance free: there is nothing to grease and nothing to adjust.
A thermal switch in the motor shuts the fan down if it gets too hot. The motor is Swiss made.

Frequently asked questions
Is this enough for an 80 x 80 cm tent?
For that volume 270 m³/h is generous, filter included. You will probably end up turning it down.
Can I fit a speed controller?
Yes. Can states explicitly that a controller is allowed on the RK. That is not true of every Can-Fan, so check again if you later buy a different model.
Can it blow air in rather than extract?
Yes, the fan works either way round. Blowing in, the filter goes on the side the air enters.
Why 100L and not just 100?
Can builds two versions of this size. The L is the stronger of the two.
