A 150 mm duct fan with four speeds on the unit: 355, 390, 420 or 460 m³/h, at 60 W.
The RK 150 S comes with an instruction Can puts in bold on its own product page: do not fit an external speed controller. That is not a hedge, and it saves you buying one.
Why no controller is allowed here
There are two ways to slow an alternating-current motor. One is to reduce the voltage by chopping the waveform, which is what common controllers do. The other is to wind the motor with several taps and use a different tap for each setting.
This fan works the second way. The knob selects a tap on the winding, and the motor receives a clean sine wave at every setting. That is why you do not hear the hum that a chopped waveform tends to produce.
Fit a controller anyway and you achieve two things. You lower the voltage on a winding not intended for it, and you undercut the four speeds already built into the unit. Can therefore does not say it is unwise but that it must not be done.
The trade-off, in fairness, is that you are tied to four steps. If you want stepless regulation or automatic control on temperature, this is not the model and you should look at a version where that is permitted.
Housing
The housing is PA6 plastic in light grey RAL 7035, with the switch set into the side. Plastic has a practical advantage over sheet steel here: it does not corrode in damp extract air and it passes on less vibration noise.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a controller not allowed?
The fan regulates through taps on the motor winding. An external controller works against that and Can forbids it outright.
Can I still put it on a timer?
Yes. Switching on and off is a different matter from regulating the speed.
What if I want stepless control?
Then take the plain RK 150, where a speed controller is permitted.
Which filter suits it?
Can names the CAN-Lite 425S and the CAN-Lite 425.
