Heavy 160 mm duct fan with four speeds: 590, 710, 750 or 810 m³/h, at 129 W.

The RK 160 LS has the widest ladder in the range. Lowest to highest is 220 m³/h apart, more than the entire output of the smallest fan in this catalogue.

One fan for two situations

That spread is what makes this model useful in a space that changes shape. Running only part of your set-up, you put it on 590 and have a fan suited to half a room. With everything filled, it goes to 810 without you replacing anything.

Do watch what happens in between. The steps are uneven: 590 to 710 is a jump of 120, while 750 to 810 is only 60. The real gain sits at the bottom of the scale, and speeds 3 and 4 are close enough together that you notice the difference mostly in the noise and barely in the temperature.

In practice: make speed 1 your default and climb only when you have a reason. Start on 4 and you pay the electricity and the noise of reserve you are not using, for the whole cycle.

Hanging it

At 3.6 kg this is the heaviest model in the range, which calls for a bracket fixed to something solid rather than to tent fabric.

Hang it so the knob stays within reach. That sounds obvious and still goes wrong regularly: the control is on the device, so a fan tucked away behind a filter cannot be changed without crawling in to it first.

Frequently asked questions

Is speed 1 already enough for a 150 x 150 cm tent?
Generously. 590 m³/h sits well above it, filter included.

Why are speeds 3 and 4 so close together?
The speeds are set per model for efficiency, not for equal steps.

Where should I hang it?
On something that carries the weight, and so that you can reach the knob.

May I connect it to an external controller?
No, Can specifically does not permit that on this range.
