The RK 160L sits twenty cubic metres per hour above the 150L and uses slightly less current doing it. That small difference comes from something you mostly hear rather than measure.

The same air, moving more slowly

A 160 mm duct has roughly fourteen percent more cross-section than a 150 mm one. Push the same volume of air through it and the air travels correspondingly slower.

That is worth more than it sounds, because duct resistance climbs roughly with the square of air speed, and flow noise climbs much harder still. Force 780 m³/h through 150 mm ducting and you will hear it at every bend. Through 160 mm it is the same air, but calmer.

That makes this the logical model once you land at this kind of airflow and are still free to pick your duct size. Committed to 150 mm materials, take the 150L instead and spend the efficiency on turning it down half a turn, which has the same effect.

The motor

The motor is Swiss made and built to run continuously rather than to cut in now and then. In a growing space that is the hardest thing you can ask of a fan: months on end, in warm and humid air, with a filter loading up as it goes.

No upkeep is required. The bearings are maintenance free and the plastic housing does not corrode. What does pay off is looking at the impeller once a cycle: dust settling on the blades changes their shape, and an impeller thrown out of balance delivers less and starts to vibrate.
