The RK 200 S is the largest version with a built-in switch that we carry. It sits at the point where switching by hand still works, and just beyond it begins the territory where it no longer does.

Where four speeds stop being enough

Four fixed speeds work well as long as you can intervene by hand: you notice it getting warm, you turn it up a step. In a small space you walk into daily that is perfectly fine.

With a larger space that shifts. More volume means more heat per hour and sharper peaks between day and night, and an installation that only changes when someone turns a knob ends up chasing events. The moment you want extraction to wind itself back as soon as the lamp goes off, a fixed speed switch is the wrong tool, however well it works.

For this model that means: fine if you keep an eye on things and your space is manageable. If you want automatic control on temperature, look at a version built for it, because adding an external controller is not an option here.

Impeller and use

The impeller is backward curved, which suits it to working against the resistance of a carbon filter without output falling away sharply.

At this size there is nearly always a filter permanently in front of it. So size the fan with that filter included rather than on bare output, and when choosing a speed allow for a filter that loads up over the cycle.
