The Can-Filters Inline 1000 moves 1000 m³/h in practice and 1100 technically, on a 250 mm flange. It is 77.5 cm long, 36.5 cm across and weighs 17 kg, with 5.1 kg of carbon in a 5 cm bed.
Meant to serve as a second filter
Can explicitly names the Inline as suitable for use as a second filter in the same airflow. You leave your ordinary carbon filter where it always hangs and put this one further along the ducting behind it. The air passes through carbon twice.
That is a different thing from buying one larger filter, and it is worth considering in two cases.
- When the first filter no longer catches everything. Carbon saturates gradually, and you notice it as odour beginning to come through before you are ready to replace anything. A second filter in series catches what the first lets past, and extends the period in which the setup is still odourless.
- When odour control is critical. Two filters in series give two goes at contact time with the carbon. That is the same reasoning as a thicker carbon bed, only split across two units you can replace separately.
Mind what it costs you in resistance: every filter costs pressure, and two in series cost twice as much. Your fan has to carry that, so size your setup on the technical capacity rather than the practical one.
Seventeen kilos in the ducting
Where the smaller Inline models can be placed with two hands, this is one to build up in advance. 17 kg does not hang from the duct clamps: those join air, not weight. Support the casing itself, at two points, and only then connect it to the ducting.

Frequently asked questions
Is there any point in two filters in series?
Yes, when odour control is critical or when your first filter is nearing the end of its life. The air then gets two goes at contact time with carbon.
What does that cost in airflow?
Two filters mean twice the resistance. Choose a fan with margin, and size on the technical capacity instead of the practical one.
Can it hang from the duct clamps?
No. Support the casing itself at two points and connect only afterwards.
Can it work as the only filter?
Certainly. Being a second filter is an application, not a requirement.
