Can-filters original CAN 9000 PL

The CAN 9000 PL is the larger of the two plastic filters in the Can-Original range. It stands 60 cm tall on an outer diameter of 14.5 cm, holds 3 kg of pelletised carbon and delivers 200 m³/h in practice. The 100 or 125 mm flange is chosen alongside it.

9000 is a type number, not a capacity

This is the most confusing property of the whole Can-Original range and it regularly costs people the wrong order. The names 2600, 9000, 333, 366, 350, 375 and 100 are type designations from Can's older coding. They say nothing about how much air the filter moves.

Two examples show how far that goes. The 9000 PL, carrying the highest number in the range, is the second weakest at 200 m³/h. The 100 BFT, carrying the lowest, is the heaviest we stock at 1400 m³/h. Here the number runs exactly opposite to the capacity.

So always read the m³/h and the flange size, and use the type number only to identify the right article. That is why our product names carry the capacity, while Can's packaging carries only the code.

Where this filter belongs

At 200 m³/h this filter covers a cabinet up to roughly 8 m³. Can names a set of 100 mm inline fans for it: from our range the Can-Fan RK 100L at 270 m³/h and the quieter RK 100 LS at the same capacity both fit. Both sit deliberately above the filter's 200, because a filter always creates back pressure.

Above this point the range switches to steel. The 333 BFT above it moves 350 m³/h and is a completely different product: 30 cm across, 11 kg, and with a carbon bed twice as thick.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 9000 bigger than the 2600?
Yes, but not because the number is higher. It is 15 cm longer and holds 0.8 kg more carbon, which buys an extra 44 m³/h.

Which flange do I need?
The same size as your ducting and your fan. At 200 m³/h, 125 mm is the sensible choice; 100 mm works if your installation is built around it.

Will it work with a Can-Fan RK 125?
It will, but Can names the 100 mm fans for this model. A larger fan runs fine, you are simply paying for air the filter will not pass.

Can I clean it and reuse it?
Not the carbon. Vacuuming or brushing the outside is fine, and the flange is reusable on a following filter.
