The Can-Filters plastic flange is the connecting piece between a carbon filter and your ducting. The plastic filters in the Can-Lite range are supplied without a flange, so for those filters this is the part you need alongside.
Available sizes
| Size | Price |
|---|---|
| 100 mm | € 3.50 |
| 125 mm | € 3.50 |
Which size you need
Choose the size of your ducting, not of your filter: the flange fits all three plastic Can-Lite filters whichever size you take. For the Can-Lite 150, 100 mm is ample. For the Can-Lite 300 and certainly the 425, 125 mm is the better choice, because wider ducting offers less resistance and lets your fan reach the same airflow at a lower setting.
It is removable and therefore reusable
The flange is not fixed into the filter housing. That means it survives a filter replacement: when the carbon is spent and a new filter goes up, you move the same flange across. It also means you can change duct size without replacing your filter, for instance when you move to a heavier fan on 125 mm.
The plastic has a practical advantage over metal here: it does not corrode, not even at the humidity normal in a grow room.
Fitting
The flange locks onto the filter with a quarter turn, without tools. You then slide the ducting over the spigot and secure it with a duct clamp. That is all there is to it.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need this flange?
With the plastic Can-Lite filters, yes: those are supplied without one. The steel models from the 425S up have a fixed flange and do not need it.
Which size should I have?
The size of your ducting. On the Can-Lite 300 and 425, 125 mm is preferable to 100 mm.
Can I reuse it later?
Yes. It is removable, so you transfer it to a replacement filter.
