Can-Lite 150

The Can-Lite 150 is the smallest carbon filter Can makes: 25 cm long, 14.5 cm across and 1.45 kg on the hook. It handles 150 m³/h in practice and 165 technically. That makes it the filter for a grow cabinet, a single 60 by 60 tent, or an extraction run that only has to move a small volume.

Can names exactly one fan for this filter

For the larger models Can publishes a list of eight, thirteen or twenty-three suitable fans. For the 150 there is one: the Can-Fan RS 100/200. That is not an oversight, it is information. A filter this size has so little carbon surface that few fans suit it without either overdrawing it or delivering too little air.

In practice: fit a heavier fan and you pull air through 2.5 cm of carbon faster than the carbon can work. Odour then gets through not because the carbon is spent but because the air spends too little time in it. The gap between 150 and 165 m³/h in the table below is exactly that margin. 150 is what Can stands behind in practice, 165 is what physically passes through.

What is inside

0.7 kg of Lite carbon, type CKG 48, in a 2.5 cm bed around a plastic body. A multi-layer pre-filter sleeve wraps the carbon and stops dust before it reaches it. That sleeve is the part you maintain: take it off in good time and beat or wash it out, and the carbon underneath reaches its service life. Can reckons on a minimum of eighteen months across the whole Lite range.

The flange is bought separately

No flange is fixed to this filter. You choose 100 or 125 mm to match your ducting, and that flange is removable and reusable. Move to different ducting later and you swap the flange, not the filter.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a heavier fan?
Mechanically yes, but it gains you nothing. Above the technical capacity air moves through the carbon too fast and filters less well. If you need more air, move up to the Can-Lite 300 or 425 rather than putting a bigger fan on this filter.

Is a flange included?
No. You choose 100 or 125 mm and order it alongside.

How long does the carbon last?
Can works to a minimum of eighteen months across the Lite range. How long exactly depends on how many hours a day you extract, how humid the air is, and how well you keep the pre-filter sleeve clean.

Can it hang in a humid room?
Up to 70 percent humidity and a maximum of 80 °C. Above that 70 percent the carbon saturates with water instead of odour.
