The Can-Lite 1500 is the largest carbon filter we carry from this range: 75 cm long, 30 cm across, 7.6 kg of carbon and 15.5 kg all in. It handles 1500 m³/h in practice and 1650 technically.
Choose your fan on the technical capacity, not the practical one
Every Can-Lite filter carries two capacities, and at the top of the range the difference starts to matter. 1500 is what Can works to in practice, 1650 is what can technically pass through. That gap of 150 m³/h is not a marketing margin but the room you need for the resistance of your own installation.
Every bend, every metre of ducting, every transition and the filter itself cost pressure. A fan rated at 1500 m³/h on paper achieves that in free air, not with a filter and ten metres of ducting attached. Size on the practical figure and you will fall short in reality. Choose a fan that can reach towards the technical 1650 and it runs at a lower setting to hold 1500, which is where things go quiet.
Can names six fans for this filter, two of which we carry: the Max-Fan Pro 250 at 1660 m³/h and the acoustically insulated Iso-Max 250 at 1480. The Max-Fan Pro lands almost exactly on this filter's technical capacity, which is the pairing you arrive at when you size for headroom.
What is inside
7.6 kg of Lite carbon in a 5 cm bed, in a steel body with a fixed 200 or 250 mm flange. A multi-layer pre-filter sleeve wraps the carbon and holds back dust. Can works to a minimum of eighteen months across the Lite range, and that is a floor rather than a ceiling: how long you actually keep it depends on running hours, humidity and how faithfully you clean that sleeve.
At 15.5 kg this is also the heaviest filter in the range. Hang it from two points, and bear in mind that carbon takes up moisture, so in service it weighs more than it did out of the box.

Should my fan manage 1500 or 1650 m³/h?
Preferably towards 1650. It then reaches 1500 at a lower setting, with the resistance of your ducting and bends included, and stays quiet.
How long does the carbon last?
Can works to a minimum of eighteen months for the Lite range. Running hours, humidity and pre-filter maintenance decide how much longer.
Why is it so much longer than the 1000?
75 cm against 50 cm, at the same diameter and the same 5 cm bed. That extra length is pure filter surface, and it delivers the jump from 1000 to 1500 m³/h.
Will it cope with a humid grow room?
Up to 70 percent humidity and a maximum of 80 °C. Above that the carbon binds water instead of odour, at the cost of its service life.
