A chromed 40 cm floor fan with a 45 W motor, three speeds on a rotary knob, three metal blades and a vertically tilting head on a base with anti-slip feet.
Which size you need
This range runs from 30 to 50 cm, and choosing the size is harder than it looks because the wattage does not track the diameter neatly. What you get:
- 30 cm, 40 W. A small tent, a cabinet, a workbench, or as a second fan for one corner.
- 40 cm, 45 W. This model. The middle size, and the first that will set a small to medium room moving from one point.
- 45 cm, 40 W. A larger blade on a lighter motor than this one. More air, calmer, but less push against resistance.
- 50 cm, 50 W. The largest. For rooms where the far side is a long way off.
The rule that works most easily: choose on the distance the air has to cover, not on the square metres. A long, narrow room wants a bigger blade than a square one of the same area, because the column of air has to stay intact further.
Why this middle size is often the right one
At 40 cm and 45 W this model sits at the point where the airflow is broad enough to genuinely mix a room, while the fan stays small enough to fit in among things. Larger models need more floor, and a bigger blade also wants more clear space in front of it.
The head tilts vertically, so you can send the stream across the floor or aim it up to pick up the warm layer above.

Frequently asked questions
40, 45 or 50 cm?
Choose on the distance the air has to cover. A long room wants a bigger blade than a square one of the same area.
Why does the 45 cm have fewer watts than this 40 cm?
A larger blade can move the same amount of air at a lower speed. More watts does not automatically mean more air.
Will it walk across a smooth floor?
The base has anti-slip feet. On a high setting on a smooth surface it is best stood against something.
Can I aim it upwards?
Yes, the head tilts vertically.
