The Fertraso Pro Deluxe floor fan has a 45 cm cage, a 90 W motor and three speeds. It swings 90 degrees sideways and the cage adjusts vertically. It sits low, so it blows beneath the crop.

Under the crop is where air stands stillest

Up at the top of a grow room something happens by itself: heat rises, the extraction pulls, and there is movement. Down below there is not. Between the pots, under the canopy, in the corners behind your trays, the air often stands completely still, and it is usually the coldest and dampest air in the room.

That is not a detail. Moisture that lingers low settles on the base of your pots and on the lowest leaves, and that is where root problems and mould on lower foliage begin. On top of that the temperature at the top and the bottom of the room drift apart, so your meter up high stops telling you what is happening down below.

A fan at floor height solves it by drawing the bottom layer into the circulation already happening above. You do not need to blow hard for that: a low setting running continuously does more than a high setting switched on now and then.

Aiming it

Do not point it head-on at the base of your plants, but diagonally along the floor, so the air sweeps under the crop and can rise again on the other side. The vertically adjustable cage is exactly for this: tilt it slightly up so the stream runs on beneath the canopy instead of hitting into it.

Frequently asked questions

Why a fan on the floor if one already hangs above?
Because the bottom layer does not move by itself. Heat rises and the extraction pulls along the top; under the crop the air stays put.

How should I aim it?
Diagonally along the floor and slightly up, so the air sweeps under the canopy rather than blowing head-on into it.

Which setting?
Low and continuous works better than high and occasional.

How does it differ from the standing version?
The height the air leaves from. This one works below the crop, the stand fan at crop height.
