The largest wall fan in the Pro Deluxe range: a 50 cm cage, 20 inches, with a 130 W motor and three speeds. It swings 90 degrees sideways and the cage tilts vertically.

The wall is the one place you do not run out of

In a fitted grow room the floor fills up first. Pots, a reservoir, a dehumidifier, a filter that has to hang somewhere. A 50 cm fan has a base that then has to go among all of it, and moves air at whatever height it happens to stand.

On the wall none of that applies. You choose the height yourself, and that choice does more for air movement than the wattage does. Three rules of thumb:

  • Above the crop, angled slightly down. That breaks up the warm layer collecting under the ceiling and mixes it with the cooler air below.
  • Not straight at the plants. A constant hard stream on the same leaf causes wind damage. You want movement throughout the room, not a jet at one spot.
  • In a corner, along the length of the room. A wall fan blowing diagonally sets the whole room moving instead of one strip.

What the 50 cm cage does against the 45

A larger cage moves more air at the same speed, and moves it more gently. On a wall fan that is doubly useful: it is fixed in place, so you cannot nudge it along when the throw falls short. At 50 cm and 130 W you reach the far side of a larger room, even on a lower setting.

Frequently asked questions

At what height should I hang it?
Above the crop, angled slightly down. That mixes the warm layer under the ceiling with the air below it.

Can it blow straight at the plants?
Preferably not constantly at the same spot. A sustained hard stream on the same leaf causes wind damage.

50 or 45 cm?
Take 50 cm if the room is wider or the fan has to throw further. A larger cage moves more air at a lower speed.

How is it operated?
With a pull cord and a knob on the housing, with no remote.
