Fertraso Wall Fan 40 cm / 16 inch

A wall fan with a 40 cm blade, three fan modes, a 90 degree swing and an adjustable tilt, operated on the fan itself. This is the hand-operated version; there is also one with a remote.

Normal, Natural Wind and Hibernate

The three modes are not speeds but patterns, and that difference is worth knowing because it decides which mode is good for what.

• Normal holds a constant speed. This is the mode for a grow room: you want predictable, continuous air movement and nothing that changes by itself.
• Natural Wind lets the speed rise and fall irregularly, like a breeze. Meant for living spaces, where a constant airflow eventually feels unpleasant.
• Hibernate is the sleep mode: it steps gradually down to a lower speed. Useful if the fan also serves a room someone sleeps in, less relevant in a grow room.

In a growing setup Normal is therefore almost always the right choice, and the other two are there for use outside the grow room.

Hand-operated, and what that means

The controls are on the fan. That asks you to be able to reach it after hanging, so bear it in mind when choosing the height. There is something in return: a mechanically operated fan does not hold its setting in a memory that empties. Lose the power and it is still exactly as it was.

If you cannot easily reach the buttons once it is hung, or you want to genuinely use the modes, the version with a remote is the better choice.
