G-Tools Mini Extractor Fan 125 mm 185 m³/h

A compact extraction fan with a 125 mm flange, 185 m³/h, 16 watts and 2400 rpm. Meant for grow cabinets and small spaces.

An extractor you also use as an inlet

This little fan gets used two ways, and the second is the less known: as an active air inlet in a room that already has large extraction.

The reason is negative pressure. Extraction pulls air out, and that air has to come from somewhere. With a passive inlet it enters through an opening, drawn in by the suction your extractor creates. If that opening is not good enough, your extractor has to work against that suction, and you lose capacity without seeing it: the fan spins just as fast but moves less.

A small fan pushing air in cancels that. Your extractor no longer has to suck through an undersized opening, and the pressure in the room stays close to that outside.

Two practical points. Keep the inlet fan smaller than your extraction, or you create positive pressure and push odour out through every crack instead of through your filter. And put the inlet low and the extraction high, so warm air follows the upward path it takes anyway.

May my inlet match my extraction?
Better not. Keep the inlet smaller so negative pressure remains and odour leaves through your filter.

Is this enough for a grow cabinet?
For a cabinet and for lighting up to around 250 watts it is the standard solution.
