G-tools mini fan + Prima klima filter

A set of the mini inline fan at 185 m³/h with a Prima Klima K2600 mini carbon filter whose optimum is 160 m³/h. Both on 125 mm.

The filter belongs in front of the fan

On a set like this the order is not a detail. The filter goes on the suction side and the fan pulls air through it; it does not push air into it.

There are two reasons and both are practical. First, everything behind the fan stays clean: dust, plant debris and odour are taken out before they reach the motor and the ducting. Push air through a filter instead and all the dirt passes your fan first.

Second, the distribution is better. On the suction side the whole filter surface sits under even negative pressure, so air enters equally all round. Blow into it and the flow arrives as a jet, loading mainly the patch of carbon opposite the outlet.

The figures in this set deserve attention too. The fan does 185 m³/h and the filter has an optimum of 160, with a maximum of 240. So the fan sits slightly above the filter's optimum and well below its maximum. That is a workable combination for a cabinet, but it is the reason not to hang it on a larger fan.
