Metal Box 1500M³/H

The largest insulated steel box in this range, with a Torin scroll blower and a capacity of 1500 m³/h. 250 mm connections in and out, case size 48 x 48 x 60 cm.

What this box needs around it

At this size the installation is the hardest step, and it pays to sketch it out beforehand rather than order the box and look afterwards.

Start with the position. The case is nearly half a metre square and sixty centimetres tall, and weighs twenty kilos. It hangs from the supplied hooks or stands on solid footing. It does not belong on a plasterboard wall: that is a load the structure has to carry.

Then allow for the space around it. Each side carries a 250 mm flange that ducting has to slide over, and that ducting must not turn sharply immediately behind the flange. At 250 mm a decent bend soon needs half a metre, so add that to the case size.

Finally think about maintenance. You want to reach the blower to take dust off it, so do not tuck the box away where it is only accessible by dismantling the ducting.

A 250 mm duct along the whole route is the starting point here. Reducing to 200 mm costs noticeably more at this capacity than on the smaller models, because air speed then climbs sharply.

Frequently asked questions

Can it hang from a tent frame?
No. Twenty kilos belongs on the building or on solid footing.

May I reduce to 200 mm?
You can, but at 1500 m³/h that costs noticeable capacity and noise. Better to stay at 250 mm.

How much clearance should I leave?
The case size plus roughly half a metre each side for a generous bend in the ducting.
