Encapsulating rather than driving off

Nilco describes how this range works differently from an ordinary air freshener, and the difference is worth explaining, because it decides what the product does and does not affect.

An ordinary air freshener adds scent. The old smell is still there, something stronger simply sits over it, and once that fades you smell the original again.

Encapsulation, according to the manufacturer, works differently. A larger molecule closes around the odour molecule so it can no longer reach the scent receptors in your nose. The molecule is still present, but you no longer smell it, and because it is held, it does not resurface by itself once the perfume has faded.

That is the manufacturer's account and we pass it on as such: a description of how it is meant to work, not a measurement we have seen.

What it does not change either way is the source. Encapsulation acts on what is already in the air, and a source that keeps producing fills that air again. For a grow room that means your extraction with a carbon filter still does the work, and this sits alongside it for the space around.
