Sonodec 203 mm 6 meter

Six metres of acoustically and thermally insulated ducting from DEC International in 203 mm. The double length, for a route you want kept quiet over a greater distance.

What this product is certified to

This is one of the few products in our range where the manufacturer publishes its certifications in full, and for ducting that crosses a building that is not a small thing.

DEC gives the Sonodec a fire class of B-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1. That notation has three parts: B is the contribution to fire, s1 is the lowest of the smoke classes, and d0 means no flaming droplets are produced. The ducting is also tested to BS476 parts 6, 7 and 20, classed 1 under NEN 6065 and 6066, and qualified to NF M1 in France.

It further meets NEN 13180, the standard for dimensions and mechanical requirements of flexible ducting, and complies with REACH and RoHS.

Two things it is not meant for

DEC names these itself, and it is more honest to repeat them than to leave them out. This ducting is not suitable for extracting combustion gases from oil-fired boilers or open fires. And it is not suitable for air with high concentrations of acids or bases.

For ventilation, climate control and extraction in a grow room that is no limitation. For a flue you need a different product.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it as a flue for a heater?
No. The manufacturer excludes combustion gases from oil-fired boilers and open fires.

The lowest smoke production in the EN 13501-1 classification.

Is 6 metres quieter than 3?
The measured values run to 3 metres. We do not fill in what the manufacturer does not publish.
