The largest Torin softbox: 1500 m³/h, 147 watts and 1.2 A, with the blower suspended in rubber inside a 48 x 48 x 60 cm MDF case. 250 mm connections.
Four kinds of extraction box, and how to choose
We carry four ranges of box that all do the same thing: put a centrifugal blower in a case so it runs quietly. They differ in the case and in how the motor hangs inside it, and that decides what they suit.
The steel box is galvanised steel with the motor on shock absorbers. It is the simplest and cheapest, and for a shed or a separate plant room that is enough.
The steel softbox is the same steel case, but with the blower in rubber rather than on dampers. That interrupts the path along which vibration travels into the structure.
This Torin softbox also suspends the motor in rubber, but does it inside a 12 mm MDF case. Wood has more mass and rings less than thin steel, so you tackle the same noise twice.
The foam box has a case of EPP foam. It is light, takes up no moisture and damps by absorbing the vibration.
Choose on that: if the box sits inside a home or above a bedroom you want rubber mounting and mass, so this range. If the space is permanently humid, EPP wins, since MDF cannot cope with standing condensation. If it has to hang from a light fixing or inside a tent, weight counts and EPP wins again. Standing free in a shed, the plain steel box is enough.

Frequently asked questions
Which range is quietest?
Rubber mounting plus mass tackles the most, and that is this one. Inside the room itself the differences are smaller than through a wall.
And if my room is humid?
The EPP box is the safer choice; MDF cannot cope with standing condensation.
Can it hang from a tent frame?
No. Twenty six kilos belongs on the building or on solid footing.
