A very quiet duct fan for 100 mm ducting, rated 100 m³/h at 22 to 25 dB(A) measured at three metres.

The 100 Quietline is built around one property: noise, or rather the absence of it. It is worth knowing where that quiet comes from, because it explains immediately what you give up for it.

Where the quiet comes from

Ventilation noise arises mainly from air velocity. The more air you force through the same cross-section, the faster it has to travel and the more you hear. So a quiet fan is nearly always a fan that moves less air.

On this version that is 100 m³/h. For comparison: our centrifugal VK 100 does 250 and the axial 100 VKO 105. The Quietline therefore sits at the bottom for airflow, and that is precisely why it lands at 22 to 25 dB(A).

That figure is measured three metres away. Worth knowing when comparing: the same fan reads higher closer up, and manufacturers measuring at one metre publish numbers roughly ten dB higher for exactly the same unit.

So what this fan is for: a small space that has to stay quiet and where 100 m³/h is enough. A study, a small cupboard, a room next to a bedroom.

What it is not for: anything with a carbon filter or a long duct run. This airflow will not cover that, and a larger fan on a low setting is quieter than this one flat out.

Technical Specifications:

  • Duct: 100 mm
  • Capacity: 100 m³/h
  • Noise: 22 to 25 dB(A), measured at three metres
  • Application: small spaces where noise is the deciding factor

Frequently asked questions

Is 100 m³/h enough for a grow tent?
For a small tent without a carbon filter, possibly. With a filter, no: look at the VK or TT ranges.

Why do you state the measuring distance?
Because a decibel figure without one says nothing. At one metre the same fan reads about ten dB more.

Is there a two-speed version?
Yes, the Quietline DUO models have a low and a high setting.
