A compact axial duct fan for 100 mm ducting, rated 105 m³/h. Casing and impeller in UV-resistant ABS, IPX4.

The 100 VKO is the simplest and cheapest fan we stock. That makes it attractive for a first setup, which is exactly why it matters to know what it is not meant for.

What an axial fan is not for

Vents describes this range as intended for low to medium airflow over short distances at low resistance. Those last two words are the whole limitation.

An axial fan works like a propeller: it pushes air straight through. As long as nothing is in the way it does that efficiently and cheaply. The moment resistance appears its airflow collapses, because it builds almost no pressure.

In concrete terms: do not hang a carbon filter on it. A filter is the largest resistance in an extraction run, and this fan stalls against it. A long duct run with bends is asking too much as well.

What it is good at: a short, straight through-run. Moving air out of a small space, ventilating a cupboard or a crawl space, or drawing air in somewhere. For that work it is economical, small and cheap.

If you do want filtering, a centrifugal fan from the VK range or a mixed-flow from the TT range is the right choice. Those do build pressure.

Construction

Casing and impeller are UV-resistant ABS, the motor is maintenance-free and carries overheating protection. The fan is IPX4 and rated for continuous duty. It can be switched from an ordinary room light switch, or run through a thyristor speed controller.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a carbon filter to it?
No. An axial fan builds too little pressure for a filter's resistance. Look at the VK or TT ranges instead.

So what is it suitable for?
Short, straight runs without much resistance: ventilating a small space, cupboard or crawl space.

Is a switch included?
No, it is not supplied. It is designed to run from a light switch.
