A quiet 125 mm duct fan with two speeds, 145 or 197 m³/h, in the version with a mounting bracket.

The 125 Quietline-K DUO is the most complete of this range: the largest size, two speeds and a bracket. The question is whether you need that bracket, since it is the only difference from the plain DUO.

When the bracket makes the difference

Without a bracket the fan is mounted inside the duct and carried by it. That works with rigid PVC pipe, where the pipework is solid enough to hold a fan.

With flexible ducting it does not. Ducting carries nothing: a fan suspended between two lengths pulls on its own connections and eventually sags out of line. The bracket is then not a luxury but the way it should be mounted.

There is another reason to want the bracket on this version particularly. This is a quiet fan, which means any noise that does exist stands out. A fan hanging crooked in ducting vibrates along with it, and then you lose the quiet you bought it for.

So screw it to a surface, and put a strip of rubber between it and any thin panel or wall. On a fan running at 22 to 25 dB(A) the mounting surface is quickly the loudest link.

If your setup is in rigid pipe, the plain 125 Quietline DUO is the cheaper and equally good choice.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the bracket?
With flexible ducting yes; it does not carry the fan. With rigid PVC pipe, no.

It vibrates against the surface. Now what?
Put a strip of rubber between bracket and surface. On a quiet fan the mounting surface is often the loudest link.

What is the difference from the plain 125 Quietline DUO?
The bracket only. Capacity and noise are the same.
