Vents - TT Pro 125 RV Mixed-Flow Inline Fan Ø125 mm

A 125 mm inline fan with a mixed-flow impeller and a two-speed switch, rated 240 or 350 m³/h at 29 to 34 dB(A) measured at three metres.

The TT Pro 125 RV is the size that most often ends up in a 100 x 100 cm tent. The two-speed switch is fitted as standard, and most buyers use only one of the speeds.

The two speeds, and what each is for

The gap between low and high here is 240 against 350 m³/h: roughly half as much air again. That looks like a choice between economy and power, but in practice it is a choice between day and night.

High speed belongs to the hours your lights are on and heat has to leave. The question then is how much heat you can carry away, and you want all the air you can get.

Low speed belongs to the dark period. No heat is being added, but you still want the air moving: still air around the leaves turns humid, and humidity in the dark is where mould starts. 240 m³/h is ample for that and it saves you noise.

What that means for your installation: put the switch somewhere you can reach without opening the tent. Flipping it twice a day is no hardship, but not if you have to climb for it each time. If you want it automatic, this fan also runs from an external speed controller or timer, provided that is rated for the wattage.

The noise difference between the speeds is five dB(A) at three metres. That sounds small, but on that scale it is clearly audible, and it is exactly the difference between a fan you notice at night and one you forget.

Build

The casing is low-flammable polypropylene, the motor is single phase with two speeds and thermal protection, and the ball bearings are designed for 40,000 hours of continuous running. The fan is IPX4 and mounts in any orientation.

The motor block lifts out of the casing on clamps, so cleaning does not mean disconnecting ducting.
