Vents - TT Pro 160 RV Mixed-Flow Inline Fan Ø160 mm

A 160 mm inline fan with a mixed-flow impeller and a two-speed switch, rated 415 or 565 m³/h at 37 to 46 dB(A) measured at three metres.

The TT Pro 160 RV is the size people trip over, because 160 mm is not a common size in growing. There is something useful to say about that before you order.

160 mm, and what fits it

In the growing world nearly everything is 100, 125, 150, 200 or 250 mm. 160 mm comes from domestic and commercial building ventilation, where it is a standard size. Vents builds for both worlds, which is why the size is in the range.

In practice that means: 160 mm ducting, clamps and carbon filters exist, but you will find them at a ventilation wholesaler sooner than at a grow shop. If you go looking for a 160 mm filter and find only 150 and 200, that is not bad luck.

Reducers solve it. Stepping 160 down to 150 works, but understand that you are then setting the narrowest cross-section of your whole run: the fan delivers what a 150 mm system can take, not what it could do itself. Stepping up from 160 to 200 costs you nothing in airflow and is the tidier answer if you already have 200 mm further along.

When this size does make sense: with an existing 160 mm duct in the building, and in setups where you want more than a 150 will carry but a 200 takes up too much room. At 565 m³/h it sits exactly between them.

Build

Low-flammable polypropylene casing, single-phase motor with two speeds and thermal protection, ball bearings with a design life of 40,000 hours. IPX4, rated for continuous duty, and mountable in any orientation.

The motor and impeller block lifts out of the casing on clamps for servicing, without disconnecting any ducting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect it to 150 mm ducting?
With a reducer, yes. Bear in mind your run will then perform as a 150 mm system.

Why 160 and not 150 in this series?
160 mm is a standard size in building ventilation, which Vents also builds for. In growing, 150 is more usual.

Is 46 dB(A) loud?
That is the high speed at three metres. On low it is 37, which is audibly different.

Will a 160 mm carbon filter fit?
They exist but are less common. Stepping up to 200 mm is often easier to source and costs no airflow.
