Vents VK 100 R centrifugal fan Ø 100 MM / 250 M³

A 100 mm centrifugal duct fan rated 250 m³/h. Plastic casing, external rotor motor with self-resetting overheat protection and ball bearings rated for at least 40,000 hours.

The VK 100 R is the standard version of the VK range in 100 mm. Alongside this range we stock the TT series in the same size, and the two do not solve the same problem.

Centrifugal or mixed-flow

A centrifugal fan like this one draws air in at the centre and throws it outward through an impeller with backward-curved blades. That builds pressure, and pressure is what you need as soon as there is resistance in your system.

A mixed-flow fan, like the Vents TT, sits between axial and centrifugal: more compact and usually quieter, with less pressure than a true centrifugal.

The practical choice is about what hangs behind the fan. Long duct runs, several bends, a dense carbon filter or a silencer in the line: that is work for a centrifugal. A short, straight outlet with little attached is work for a mixed-flow, which is then quieter for the same airflow.

There is one more difference you only notice when things go wrong. The overheat protection on this VK motor is self-resetting: once it cools, it runs again. On the small TT models it is not. In a setup where resistance can creep up, that is an argument in itself.

Build and mounting

The casing is corrosion-resistant plastic, which suits this range to damp spaces. The impeller is dynamically balanced, limiting vibration and therefore noise, and the ball bearings are designed for at least 40,000 operating hours.

It mounts horizontally or vertically, to wall, ceiling or floor, with the supplied brackets. Watch the arrow on the casing: it shows the airflow direction. The fan is for indoor use from +1 to +45 °C at up to 80 percent humidity.

Frequently asked questions

When do I choose this over a TT?
When there is resistance in your system: long ducting, bends, a carbon filter or a silencer. On a short straight outlet a mixed-flow is quieter for the same airflow.

Can I control the speed?
Yes, with an external speed controller. For two fixed speeds built in, look at the Duo; for automatic control on temperature, the U version.

What happens on overheating?
The protection cuts out and resets itself once the motor has cooled.

Can it hang vertically?
Yes, horizontal and vertical are both allowed, using the supplied brackets.
