Vents VK 150 R centrifugal fan Ø 150 MM / 460 M³

A 150 mm centrifugal duct fan rated 460 m³/h. Fits a 150 or a 160 mm duct.

The VK 150 R is the size most asked for in growing. This one also has a property the rest of the range does not.

One fan, two duct sizes

Vents states in the manual that the model with a 150 mm connection may be fitted in a 150 or a 160 mm duct. That is not a trick with a reducer but a property of the connection itself.

Why it matters here: 150 mm is the common size in growing, while 160 mm is the standard in domestic and commercial building ventilation. Anyone with an existing 160 mm duct in the building therefore needs no adapter and no switch to a different series.

On a 160 mm duct, do watch the seal. The connection fits, but a clamp set for 150 mm will not seal 160 mm ducting by itself. Push the ducting fully over the flange and put the clamp on the flange rim, not beside it.

Connecting to 150 mm, there is nothing special to consider: ducting, clamps and carbon filters in that size are available everywhere.

Build

The impeller is centrifugal with backward-curved blades and is balanced during assembly, which limits vibration. The motor is an asynchronous external rotor with a cut-out that switches back in by itself once cooled, on bearings designed for at least 40,000 running hours.

The housing is plastic that does not corrode, so damp extracted air is no obstacle. Brackets are included and the mounting position is free: horizontal, vertical, to wall, ceiling or floor.

Yes, Vents states this explicitly for the 150 mm model. Do make sure the clamp seals properly.

One rated for 460 m³/h or more. Filters in 150 mm are available everywhere.

Can I turn it down?
Yes, with an external speed controller. Two fixed speeds come with the Duo, automatic control with the U version.

Is 460 m³/h enough for a 120 x 120 cm tent?
Comfortably. That volume asks for around 175 m³/h for one air change per minute, so you can run it low.
