Vents VK 200 Duo R centrifugal fan Ø 200 MM

A 200 mm centrifugal duct fan with two speeds: 430 or 741 m³/h, selected with a thyristor two-speed controller.

The VK 200 Duo R is the largest two-speed version in our range. At this airflow the second speed is not mainly about economy, it is about noise.

At high airflow the low speed matters most

Ventilation noise comes largely from air velocity: the faster air travels through your duct, the more you hear. At small airflows that is modest, but 741 m³/h through a 200 mm line is a serious quantity of air, and you hear it.

On the low speed airflow drops to 430 m³/h. That is not only less air but considerably lower velocity, and therefore a noticeably calmer system.

That makes the Duo more interesting at this size than at the small ones. In a 100 x 100 cm tent a small difference in noise is academic; in a room passing 741 m³/h it is the difference between an installation you hear and one you forget.

The practical setup is the same as on the smaller Duos: low as your normal operation, high when you need it. With a timer rated for the power you can have that follow your light schedule.

If noise is still an issue on low, look at the installation rather than the fan: a silencer in the run, ducting short and taut, and the fan hung in straps rather than bolted down.

Build

External rotor motor with two windings, centrifugal impeller with backward-curved blades balanced during assembly, bearings for at least 40,000 running hours and a thermal cut-out that recovers by itself once cooled. Plastic housing, IPX4, class II, free mounting position.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the low speed matter more here than on a small fan?
Because noise comes from air velocity. Dropping from 741 to 430 m³/h is audibly more significant than the same step at a small airflow.

Does the high speed match the standard VK 200?
Almost: 741 against 780 m³/h. In return you get a genuine low speed.

What if it is still too loud on low?
Look at the run: a silencer, short taut ducting, and the fan hung loose in straps.

Can it switch automatically?
With a timer rated for the power, yes.
