The VKS 200 U combines the most power in this range with automatic control. It is the heaviest version we stock, which is exactly why it is fair to start with whether you need it.

When this combination makes sense

Buying two properties at once only pays if you use both. The stronger motor is for systems with plenty of resistance; the control module is for spaces where demand varies. Those two coincide in one situation: a large setup with an extensive duct system where the climate moves considerably across the day.

In that case each property does real work. With the lamps on it runs at whatever the resistance of your filter and ducting demands, and during the dark period it backs off without you doing anything.

If you need only one of the two, you are paying here for something you will not use. Plenty of resistance but a stable climate: within this range this is the version with the stronger motor, so you simply leave the control module at a fixed speed. A varying demand without the heavy ducting? The VK 200 Duo R covers that: two built-in motor speeds in the same duct size, switched by hand or on a timer rather than automatically on temperature.

That last point is why not to default to this one simply because it is the biggest. 930 m³/h through a 200 mm line is a lot of air velocity, and velocity is precisely where ventilation noise is born.

Build

The higher-power external rotor motor sits in the same housing as the rest of the range, with a centrifugal impeller balanced during assembly. Self-recovering thermal cut-out, bearings for at least 40,000 running hours, plastic housing, IPX4 and class II. The control module with speed and thermostat dials is on the front panel.

Do I need this version?
Only if you have both plenty of resistance and a varying climate. With just one of the two, you are paying for a property that sits unused.

What is the difference from the VK 200 Duo R?
That one has two fixed speeds you switch yourself, 430 or 741 m³/h. This one has the higher-power motor at 930 m³/h and regulates on temperature by itself.

Is it louder?
More air through the same cross-section means more velocity, so yes. Turning it down with the module helps.

Can it keep running at a minimum speed?
Yes, use the speed dial to set a baseline it holds below the threshold.
