What actually breaks on a grow tent

Canvas rarely fails. What does fail are the three places where something moves or where force is carried, and on a tent this size that happens sooner than on a small one.

The corners. Three poles meet here, and here the weight of everything you hang arrives. On larger tents the roof bars are longer, so the moment on each corner is greater. Polypropylene corners are exactly why this is the part to watch: a frame going out of square or sagging slightly almost always starts at a corner, not at a tube.

The zips. A 220 cm zip gets pulled open and shut dozens of times per run, often one-handed while the other hand holds something. Always pull a zip straight and with two hands when it runs stiff, because a zip forced askew jumps its teeth, and there goes your light-tightness.

The ports. Every time you reposition ducting you pull on the fabric around that opening. This range's double sleeves spread that force over two layers, but it remains the place to be careful.

In practice: build the tent properly square once before the canvas goes over it, and hang heavy equipment spread over several bars rather than all at one point. That is the difference between a tent that lasts three years and one that reaches ten.

How much may I hang from the frame?
Dark Box publishes no load rating. Work conservatively: spread filter and lamp over different bars and avoid hanging everything from one roof bar.

Can I leave the tent assembled if I move it?
Better not. Moving an assembled tent is the commonest way to break a corner or tear the canvas.

What is the difference from the DB120W?
Same width, but this model is 120 cm deep instead of 60, and therefore twice as roomy.
