You are paying for the depth here, not the area

That is more honest said outright than the other way round, and it is exactly why this tent exists.

At 0.72 m² the DB120W has less growing area than the DB100 with its full square metre, and half that of the DB120. Yet the prices sit close together. Bought purely on square metres this is not the thriftiest choice, and that is not a hidden flaw but the point of the product.

What you are paying for is the 60 cm depth. That figure decides whether a tent fits anywhere at all. A square 120 cm tent needs two metres of clear floor if you also want to get around it. A tent 60 cm deep goes along a wall, into a dormer, under a sloping ceiling, in a walk-in cupboard or a corridor, and leaves the rest of the room usable.

There is a second benefit that gets mentioned less: at 60 cm deep you reach every plant from the front. There is no back row you can only get to by moving the front one.

A useful detail: at 1.30 m³ this tent holds almost exactly as much air as the DB80 at 1.28 m³, on a very different floor. For your ventilation and climate control it therefore behaves like an 80 × 80 tent, while your canopy spreads across 120 cm of width.

Why does this cost nearly as much as a larger tent?
Because you are paying for the shape rather than the area. If a square tent does fit your room, it gives you more growing space for the same money.

Which lamp suits it?
One with an elongated light distribution, or two smaller ones side by side. A lamp made for a square metre will light part of your canvas here.

How much extraction do I need?
About as much as for an 80 × 80 tent, since the volume is nearly the same.
