A 60 that is not a propagation box

Most 60 × 60 cm tents are 140 to 160 cm tall. That is no accident: at this size a tent is usually sold as a raising space, for cuttings, seedlings or a mother plant. For a full cycle such a tent is too low.

This one is 180 cm. That sounds like a twenty-centimetre detail, but it changes what you can do inside.

Count down from the roof. A carbon filter inside costs you 40 to 50 cm. A lamp with its hanging system another 25 to 40. An 11 litre pot stands 25 cm tall. At 160 cm of height you are left with around 45 cm of plant room, which is not enough to finish anything. At 180 cm you have around 65 cm, and with the filter outside the tent you approach 110 cm.

That is the difference between a tent where you raise plants before moving them on, and a tent where you run a small cycle from start to finish. For anyone with only one room, that is exactly the question that matters.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run a full cycle in here?
At this height you can, provided you hang the filter outside the tent and choose a slim lamp. In a 60 that is 160 cm tall you cannot.

How much can hang from the frame?
Dark Box publishes no load rating. Spread filter and lamp over different bars and avoid loading any one bar heavily.

Is this a propagation tent or a flowering tent?
Usable as either. Roomy for raising, and workable for flowering one plant or a few small ones.
