What "Basic" means at Garden Highpro

Probox Basic is not a name chosen to sound modest. It denotes the canvas weight, and it is worth knowing exactly what you are choosing.

Canvas weight is given in denier, abbreviated D: the weight of the yarn the fabric is woven from. This tent is 420D. Garden Highpro's Master line is the same design in 600D. That is the difference between the two lines; the rest of the design is comparable.

A heavier canvas is stiffer, hangs with more weight and has more mass to stop light and sound. A lighter canvas is easier to handle, cheaper and simpler to fold. Neither is better; they are built for different use.

420D is the sensible choice when the tent stands indoors in a space you control, is not zipped open and shut several times a day, and does not rub against furniture. That describes almost every home grower. You are then not paying for canvas weight you never use.

600D becomes interesting under heavy use: several cycles back to back, in and out daily, or a setup that moves often. Wear on canvas and zips mounts up, and the heavier weave wins there.

What stays the same either way is the interior: silver mylar returning light to the canopy.

What this size adds

The 100 is the first size in the range to stand 200 cm; the 60 and the 80 are 160 cm. That is 40 cm of extra headroom in one step, and it is exactly the room you need to raise a light as the canopy comes up.

The air ports here are larger than on the 60 and 80. There are five of them, plus a passive intake of 30 × 16 cm.
