Every Probox Basic frame is rated to carry 28 kg. That figure does not change with size: the 60 × 60 and this 120 × 120 have the same stated hanging capacity. On the small sizes it is a number you never meet. Here you can, and that is the main thing to weigh on this tent.

Add your setup up. An LED panel covering 1.44 m² runs to 8 or 12 kg. A carbon filter for this space sits around 5 to 8 kg, and toward the upper end once the carbon is saturated. An inline fan comes to 2 to 4 kg. Ducting, clamps and rope hangers together add a couple more.

Together that puts you between 17 and 26 kg. It fits, but the margin is not large, and that is a different feeling from a 60 × 60 tent where the same 28 kg is three times over.

What that means in practice:

Hang your filter outside the tent where you can. Filter and fan do not have to sit inside. Standing them outside on the floor or on a wall bracket takes the heaviest part of the setup off the frame in one move.

Spread the load across bars. Do not hang everything from one roof bar. The stated figure is for the frame as a whole, not for each point individually.

Look at the ceiling above the tent. If there is a joist or a hook, hanging a light from the ceiling rather than the frame is always the safer answer, whichever tent you own.

None of this is a reason not to buy this tent. It is a reason to work your setup out beforehand rather than discovering afterwards that the frame is sagging.

Canvas, ventilation and access

The outer canvas is 420D nylon, the entry line within the Probox programme, with a silver mylar interior. The door opening is 115 × 180 cm and spans almost the whole front, so you can reach the entire floor. There are five air ports plus a passive intake of 38 × 18 cm, the largest in the range.

Does this tent carry more than the smaller sizes?
No. The whole Probox Basic range is rated at 28 kg. At this size it is the figure your setup can actually run into.

Can I hang the filter and fan inside?
You can, but add your total weight up first. Mounting them outside saves the most, and is the wiser choice with a heavy setup.

How does it differ from the Basic 100?
