The ceiling stays at 160 cm while the floor grows

The Basic 60 and the Basic 80 are both 160 cm tall. Only at the 100 and the 120 does the range move to 200 cm. So at this size you are buying 78% more floor under exactly the same height, and that has a consequence you meet when you choose your light.

Light spreads from its source. The higher you hang a fixture above the canopy, the larger the area it covers and the more evenly it falls from the centre to the corners. Lighting an 80 × 80 cm floor into its corners therefore needs more distance than lighting 60 × 60 cm.

Except that the distance has not been added here. From the 160 cm subtract the hanger, then the fixture, then the height of your pot. What remains is both the room the plant grows into and the gap between light and canopy, and those two compete for the same centimetres.

In practice: choose a fixture rated for 80 × 80 cm rather than a narrower one you intend to hang higher to cover the gap. A light with a wide, flat output beats a point source here. With an LED panel spanning the full width you reach the corners without buying height you do not have.

If you do want that height, the Basic 100 at 200 cm is the next step, and it adds 40 cm of headroom in one go.

Canvas, frame and ventilation

The outer canvas is 420D nylon with a silver mylar interior. The frame is steel tubing with plastic corner joints, assembled without tools, rated to carry 28 kg. That figure is the same across the whole Basic range, from the 60 to the 120.

There are five air ports of Ø 13.5 cm, the same size as on the Basic 60, plus a passive intake of 25 × 13.5 cm. Ø 13.5 cm is 135 mm, so plan on 125 mm ducting; 150 mm will not pass through light-tight.

Is this tent taller than the Basic 60?
No. Both stand 160 cm. The difference is entirely in the floor: 80 × 80 cm against 60 × 60 cm.

Which light suits it?
One rated for 80 × 80 cm. Hanging a narrower fixture higher does not work well here, because height is limited.
