Load capacity is the figure this tent stands out on, and it only becomes obvious when you set it beside the rest of the market.

Homebox rates the Q80+ at a maximum of 50 kg for the whole tent, on Ø 16 mm poles. Tents of comparable size and the same pole diameter in this class often sit around 20 kg in total. That is a factor of two and a half, on the same floor area.

Where does it show? As soon as more than one thing hangs from the roof. A 6 kg carbon filter with an inline fan on it, an LED and a hanging system together reach 15 kg without difficulty. In a tent rated at 20 kg total you are then at three quarters of the limit and starting to think about what hangs where. At 50 kg the question does not arise.

That makes this size interesting for anyone starting small without intending to stay small: you can hang heavier equipment than the floor area suggests.

Mind the pole diameter when ordering spares

The Q80+ stands on Ø 16 mm poles. The larger Ambient models, the Q100+ and Q150+, stand on Ø 22 mm. Separate Homebox connectors and hooks are sold per diameter, so the 22 mm parts do not fit this tent. Measure your pole before ordering a spare.

No. This tent has 16 mm poles. The 22 mm parts are for the Q100+ and Q150+.

Can I hang both a filter and a lamp in here?
Yes, the 50 kg rating covers that comfortably. Do allow for the height a filter costs you inside.

Do I still need velcro flaps against light leaks?
No. The Total-Blackout zips exist precisely to make those unnecessary.
