AutoPot - Easy2Grow 12 Pots Watering System

At twelve pots the Easy2Grow system changes character. This is six trays each with an AQUAvalve5, fed by a 16 millimetre main line, and the tank is not included. Two differences from the smaller sets you should know before ordering.

Why the pipe gets wider

The system runs on gravity, which means low pressure: the height difference between the water level in your tank and the trays is all you have. At that pressure, resistance in the pipe is not a side issue.

Six valves can also call for water at once. Each AQUAvalve5 opens independently, exactly when its own tray has run dry, so it happens regularly that several are filling together. A narrow pipe that feeds one tray effortlessly then passes too little to serve them all at the same time, and the trays at the end of the row fill noticeably slower than those at the start.

A 16 millimetre main line with a branch to each tray solves that. The wide pipe acts as a shared, low-resistance supply, and the short thin branch to each valve only has to cover the last stretch. It is the same arrangement as plumbing in a building: one generous trunk, many narrow branches.

Why no tank is included

Because 47 litres is no longer a meaningful reserve at this scale. Twelve plants use a multiple of two, and a tank that lasted weeks on the small set empties here within days. Rather than supply one you would replace anyway, you choose your own reservoir, or add the collapsible FlexiTank as an option.

What you do get is the connecting hardware: the fittings set with flush tap, five metres of pipe and the manual.

Building and maintaining at this length

Lay the main as one continuous line along the row of trays and branch off it at each one, rather than running back to every tray from a single point. That saves pipe and keeps the supply to the furthest tray on equal terms with the first.

Keep the end of the line reachable for the flush tap. At this length flushing is maintenance rather than a nicety: nutrient residues settle in the pipe and the valve inlets are the narrow part. If you feed nutrients, flush between crops.

And it applies here as much as on the small sets: never let the reservoir run completely dry. If air enters the line the valves lose their vacuum seal and stop opening reliably. Topping up at a third remaining is the rule of thumb.
