Blumat Ø8mm tee

The 8 millimetre T-piece has three equal ports and splits the supply hose into two runs. It is therefore not a sensor connection: for that you want the 8-3-8 T-piece that steps down to 3 millimetre.

Why you would split the main

One continuous supply run serves around 250 sensors. If you are above that, or your setup goes two ways from the tank, you fit a split immediately after the pressure reducer or the tank fitting. Two shorter runs hold pressure more evenly than one long line, and between them they carry twice the drippers.

Where to fit it

As close to the head as possible. Splitting halfway works, but the second run then sits behind every branch on the first, and you notice at the far end that less is left.
